Tabbed interface
Lists and detail processes in separate tabs, with clear rules for when a tab is reused and when a new one is opened.
Detachable detail view

Large data sets remain responsive. Search, filtering and sorting run on the server — even lists with very large numbers of objects open without loading everything into the browser.
